The differences between mobile and desktop versions of this game make no sense and only hurt the game for everyone.
First, there's Gameguard, which is an anti cheat measure exclusive to the PC version of the game. It's an outdated rootkit and privacy nightmare you rightly should refuse to install on your system. For myself, as a compromise, I had the game installed on a GPU-passthrough virtual machine. Before the august 5th patch, I could play uncharted waters origin on my PC just fine with this method - at some point, this error would pop up:
But if I closed it within a few seconds, the game just kept running and I could play your game. Now, if I do the same trick, the game just shuts down. This is despite the patch notes claiming: "[Game Guard] Game will not foce close under caution condition from now on."
So, now I can't play the game on my PC. Id also like to complain about the PC launcher, which was a hassle to use, and uses measures to prevent account theft which are entirely by-passable. Every time I logged into the floor launcher, it demanded that I log into my email and enter a 2fa veri****tion code. This is a sensible account security measure, and I think what triggered it is that my IP address changed whenever I booted up my VM, since I use a VPN with a random IP address whenever online.
Now, let's compare the mobile experience to the PC version. Hilariously, you don't have to install Gameguard on your phone, which means that cheaters could just cheat on their mobile devices while legitimate PC users can't even open the game, let alone cheat. Any anti cheat measure that exists for PC only is just going to move cheaters to mobile devices, so it is a worthless measure. Also, when I log into the game on my phone, even though my IP address changes just as often, I never have to log into my email and submit a 2FA veri****tion code just to play. This is obviously because mobile devices change IP address more often, again making the measure useless to prevent account theft, since the thief could just bypass 2FA by logging into the victim's account on a mobile device. This makes both of these measures in protecting the game redundant and only an inconvenience.
To sum up, I suggest that you remove Gameguard for the PC version. It is a worthless measure since it does not run on mobile. It also hurts legitimate users such as myself, making the game harder to play - or in my case, impossible as of now. Nobody in the west will play your game if they have to jump through hoops to run it. Thank you for your consideration.
