Uncharted Waters Origin
Enter into the Endless Possibility!
Hello, Admirals.
May 27 marks Hyakunin Isshu Day, a celebration of one of Japan’s most cherished literary traditions.
Hyakunin Isshu (百人一首) is an anthology of 100 classical waka poems, each written by a different poet, capturing emotions and scenes in just 31 syllables.
Compiled by the nobleman Fujiwara no Teika during the Heian-Kamakura period, this timeless collection is still widely read and enjoyed today.
