😊 What is "World Smile Day"?

History

In 1963, American artist Harvey Ball created the famous yellow smiley face.

Although it became globally popular, he worried it was being consumed only for commercial purposes. In 1999, he declared the first Friday of October as World Smile Day.

Purpose

“Do an act of kindness. Help one person smile.”

The day is meant not only for smiling, but also for practicing kindness and care toward one another.
