✉️November 2025 - A Letter from the Director to All Admirals
Uncharted Waters Origin112

Hello, Admirals.
This is Director Park Cheolwoo of Uncharted Waters Origin.
As we enter November, the temperature difference between day and night has grown, and the weather is getting colder.
It’s easy to catch a cold during this change of season — I actually caught one myself recently and had a bit of a hard time.
I hope all Admirals stay healthy and enjoy a pleasant winter together with Uncharted Waters Origin.
The development team is currently finishing preparations for the November 19 regular update and is also working on the December update, which will arrive alongside Season 5.
Through this letter, I’d like to share more details about upcoming updates and the topics you’ve shared through the community.
Notice on Recent Issues and Improvements
Land Exploration Memory Issue
We are aware that many Admirals have experienced inconvenience due to excessive memory usage during land exploration, which could cause forced game termination.
Although partial improvements were attempted in the October update, we had to revert to the previous state due to device compatibility issues.
We sincerely apologize to those who have been waiting for improvements. We will carefully rework and test the system internally to ensure this issue is completely resolved.
Religious Effect Feedback
We have confirmed feedback that the distance to use Cathedral effects for land exploration near the top-level region, “Hong River Area,” is inconveniently long.
While directly replacing or adding religious buildings in certain cities is difficult at the moment due to event and regional conflicts,
we plan to address this inconvenience through a new system or by adding an event city similar to Santa Island in the Asian region.
Additionally, new land exploration areas to be added in Season 5 this December will be located in Europe, designed for more convenient Cathedral access compared to Season 4.
Competitive Event Revamp
We have received feedback that the previous competition goals required excessive playtime, increasing participation fatigue.
Accordingly, in the Eastern Waves Competition, we reduced the required playtime for achieving goals and adjusted the scoring system so that Admirals’ specs have a greater impact on their scores.
We will continue to fine-tune competitive events to provide a more enjoyable and goal-driven experience.
Special Synthesis Quests
Starting with the September update, quests related to Special Synthesis have been added.
These quests connect the lore behind the highest-grade Special Synthesis equipment and parts, developed at a scale comparable to the Chronicle.
Future updates will continue to add related quests along with new Special Synthesis additions.
We’ve also received feedback that the volume of these quests was quite large, and we will take this into consideration for future quest design.
Additionally, the final quest in the series spanning from Cloud Priest to Halo has not yet been released and will be updated during Season 5.
As the final story of the series, it will feature special rewards, obtainable only after completing a high-difficulty battle.
We will continue expanding not only the Chronicle but also other questlines, to further enrich and deepen your experience of the game world.
November Update and Event Notice
New Event: “Festival of Fortune”
Following the November regular maintenance, the new event “Festival of Fortune” will begin.
Reflecting feedback that previous events were too complex and tiring, this event has been simplified so Admirals can easily obtain rewards through general gameplay such as trading, adventure, and combat.
Notably, after the recent Transcendence update, many Admirals felt a shortage of Contracts and Promotion Materials — these items can now be earned as rewards.
In addition, various Hot Time effects matching the November theme will be applied, such as construction cost discounts,
and a Special Shop will be available where Admirals can purchase Enhancement Protectors and Special Skillbooks using Ducats.
Lastly, you can obtain Season Investment Certificates through event participation.
Please note that Season 4 Investment Certificates cannot be used once Season 5 begins, so make sure to use them before the season ends.
Memoir Reward Revamp
We are carrying out a major overhaul of the Memoir rewards, as the Construction Materials included in the rewards have fallen behind the current game environment and lost value.
1. Construction Materials Removed, Blue Gems Added: The outdated Construction Materials will be removed and replaced with a large amount of Blue Gems that can be used flexibly in any situation.
2. Contract Change: Chronicle-related Contracts will be replaced with Common Contracts for convenience.
3. Exclusive Equipment Added: Since the first five Admirals received insufficient exclusive equipment, new exclusive gear will be added to their Memoir rewards.
Season 5 Update Preview
Season 5 begins on December 15, and new content will be gradually released following the regular maintenance.
Here’s an overview of the major upcoming changes.
* Please note that the following details are under development and may differ from the final update.
1. Season Cycle and Ship Overhaul
- Season Cycle Change:
- The cycle will be extended from 3 months to 4 months. This adjustment reflects feedback that the pace of seasonal changes was too fast and aims to allow Admirals to use their ships and mates longer.
The cycles for ships, special synthesis, and competitive events will also be adjusted accordingly.
- Introduction of Super-Large Ships: Starting with the December update, Grade 26 ships will be classified as Super-Large Ships, featuring increased cabin capacity.
By utilizing these additional cabins, Admirals can significantly enhance fleet specs and optimize mate effect configurations.
- New Ship Enhancement Effect System:During the season, a system allowing ships to receive unique effects will be introduced, starting from Super-Large Golden Ships.
This system primarily consumes Ducats, enabling players to further grow through gameplay. Since effects can be applied individually per ship,
even fleets with the same ships can be customized based on each Admiral’s preferred playstyle.
2. Shipbuilding Contract Acquisition and Investment Value Enhancement
- Top-Tier Shipbuilding Contracts: Still obtainable through top seasonal content.
- Lower-Tier Shipbuilding Contracts: Acquisition sources will be expanded, with the main source shifting to Season Investment Chests.
These chests will be distributed based on investment rankings, increasing the overall value of investments.
3. Tradable Investment Certificates
- Previously, Investment Certificates could not be traded on the Exchange, but starting from Season 5, some top-tier certificates will become tradable.
- As top-tier certificates are difficult to acquire, we expect Admirals to create new market value through trading, shaping a new investment economy within the game.
4. Major Season 5 Content
The following content will be added sequentially throughout Season 5:
- Two New Admirals: One new Admiral will join in December, followed by another mid-season. These Admirals will be closely tied to Season 5’s theme, adding greater depth to the season.
- New Sailing Regions: A new European sailing area will open, introducing two new cities.
- New Production Type – Crafting: A new production type, Crafting, will be added alongside Cooking and Casting. Additional recipes will also be added to the existing production categories.
- Enhancement Extraction: As new parts and equipment continue to be added, we understand the fatigue of restarting enhancements from scratch.
A new system will allow you to extract enhancement levels from existing items and transfer them to others using specific resources. This feature will also allow enhancements to be done anywhere.
- Trade Convenience Improvements:To make trading easier to learn and participate in, several improvements will be made:
- The world map will display market price ranges for cities at a glance.
- A Recommended Trade Destination Guide will indicate where to sell specific goods.
- When events such as Prosperity or Major Trends occur, Recommended Trade Goods will be highlighted for the affected cities.
The content mentioned above represents only a portion of what will be added during Season 5,
and more detailed information will continue to be shared through Patch Notes and Letters from the Developers.
The development team sincerely acknowledges the critical feedback we have received regarding the continued delays in updates and the lack of communication.
We deeply apologize for the disappointment we have caused by failing to meet your expectations.
We have come to realize that, beyond simply adding new content,
the most important thing for the future of Uncharted Waters Origin is to listen to your feedback and keep our promises regarding update schedules.
To achieve this, we are thoroughly reorganizing our internal workflow and quality management systems,
and we will strive to maintain transparency by sharing our improvement process continuously.
We are also expanding our communication channels to ensure more open and active dialogue with all Admirals.
Starting with the preparations for Season 5, we promise to show a renewed and improved
Uncharted Waters Origin in every aspect, so that your voices will never go unheard.
We will continue to do our utmost to ensure that Uncharted Waters Origin sails forward together with you.
Thank you for your unwavering support and honest feedback.

To celebrate, we’ve prepared a small quiz event where Admirals can guess the theme and contents of the upcoming season.

- Hint 2: Originating from the Swiss Alps, this major Western European river flows along the France-Germany border, through Germany, and into the North Sea near Rotterdam, Netherlands.
- Hint 3: Once the northern frontier of the Roman Empire, it now handles over 80% of Germany’s inland water transport. Its middle section, lined with castles, is known as the “Romantic Route.”
