January 2026 – A Letter from the Director to Admirals
Uncharted Waters Origin45

This is the Director of Uncharted Waters Origin.
First, we sincerely bow our heads in apology for the confusion caused to Admirals due to the various issues that have occurred recently.
We take seriously the concerns and criticism shared by many Admirals,
and in order to ease your frustration even slightly, we would like to provide advance notice of the topics most frequently inquired about recently,
as well as the key items currently being prepared for the February regular maintenance.
We will continue to be Uncharted Waters Origin that listens more carefully and communicates swiftly with Admirals.
Major Improvements Currently Under Review |
[Parts Slot Shortage Issue]
Since the start of the seasonal system, Flag Parts have been added so that Admirals can experience new progression elements through Invest.
As seasons have progressed, various Flags with different effects have been introduced,
and since most of them have unique performance, many Admirals keep them in Storage for future use.
As the number of Flags has increased, we have received multiple inquiries from Admirals regarding a shortage of Parts Storage slots.
While the development team is aware of this issue, following the October 2025 regular maintenance, during which Storage slots were expanded,
we are proceeding cautiously with further expansion to ensure data stability. We ask for your understanding that an immediate update is difficult.
We are reviewing alternative solutions to alleviate Storage shortages,
such as a Flag switching feature or the addition of a separate Storage system,
and we will continue to work toward resolving this inconvenience for our Admirals.
[Trade Point Cap]
Since the maximum Trade Point storage was increased from 50,000 to 200,000, a considerable amount of time has passed.
With the increase in Trade income in Ducats, situations have arisen where a single sale can exceed 200,000 points.
As a result, many Admirals are splitting their Trade Goods sales in order to obtain the maximum rewards.
Taking current Trade profits into account, during the February regular maintenance,
the maximum amount of Trade Points that can be held will be increased to 500,000.
While the maximum holding limit will be increased, the maximum number of reward claims will remain at 50.
We are aware that many Admirals are experiencing inconvenience due to limits on the maximum number of claims across various contents,
such as Trade Points, Fortune Teller exchanges, and chests.
This issue also requires prompt improvement.
however, when multiple random-type rewards are claimed simultaneously,
significant server load occurs. For this reason, a maximum limit has been applied to each type of content.
We will proceed with optimization efforts to improve the maximum number of reward claims in the future.
[Remote Investment Improvements]
Many Admirals shared feedback regarding the inconvenience that
occurs when investing in multiple cities after purchasing and using Remote Investment products.
We are currently working on improvements so that you can invest in multiple cities more easily.
While it will be difficult to apply this in the February regular maintenance, we will work to implement it in a future update.
In addition, many Admirals also suggested enabling Market Events remotely.
We are carefully reviewing the situations that may arise from introducing this feature.
Providing convenient features is important, but we will thoroughly check the potential impact
this could have on the world and inform you later regarding whether it will be implemented.
[Guild Effect Improvement]
To obtain a variety of rewards, Admirals must play Adventure,
Trade, and Combat content. However, since only one category of Guild Effect can currently be selected,
we have confirmed that this causes inconvenience and has led to many discussions within Guilds.
Through a future update, we plan to add a feature that allows multiple categories of
Guild Effects to be used simultaneously by spending Currency.
Along with this feature, Guild Effects will be renewed, introducing previously undeveloped effects as well as new effects,
with the aim of providing new growth elements and content that allows Guilds to unite once again.
[Superior Trade Goods Balance]
We have received feedback that the Superior Trade Goods introduced in
Investment Season 5 are balanced excessively higher compared to existing Trade Goods.
Each season features its own unique theme, and Investment Season 5 is conducted with a Trade theme.
As a result, the efficiency of Superior Trade Goods, which are available only during the season, has been significantly increased,
and the number of ports where they can be sold has also been expanded.
The additional benefits of Superior Trade Goods apply only during this season, and we encourage Admirals to make full use of them.
The next Investment Season 6 will feature a Combat theme, with various combat content and reward adjustments planned.
We ask for your continued interest and support in upcoming seasons as well.
[Barter Negotiation Convenience]
Currently, many Admirals are using Barter as a main method of Trade, particularly involving Mineral Salt.
However, we have identified inconvenience caused by the excessive number of operations required to proceed with Negotiation during Barter.
As a result, we are developing a feature that allows Negotiation to be completed at once.
In addition to Barter, we will continue to improve UX across various content areas that
require cumbersome or excessive repetitive actions during gameplay.
[Explore Land Memory Leak]
An issue where excessive memory usage occurs during Explore Land has been continuously identified.
Although we attempted to address this issue in a previous update, we regret to inform you that problems arose, and the changes were reverted.
We are currently continuing optimization efforts for this issue.
With this improvement, memory optimization will be applied
in a more definitive direction by removing unnecessary UI elements during Consecutive Exploration.
Additionally, memory leaks have also been identified in various other content areas, and we will continue to implement improvements over time.
In addition to the matters mentioned in this letter, many Admirals are also taking
the time to share valuable suggestions through the community and customer support channels.
The valuable feedback from our Admirals is continuously reviewed and organized by both the development and operations teams,
and we will work to apply it to the game as quickly as possible.
Next, we would like to inform you of the key items scheduled to be applied in the February regular maintenance.
*The content below is currently under development and may differ from the actual update.
Key Items of the February Regular Maintenance |
[New Admiral and Chronicles Addition]
Following Linus Rachet, who was released in December, a new female Admiral will be added.
Many Admirals may have already anticipated this while playing through Linus Rachet’s Chronicles.
We are preparing a Chronicles experience that is richer and more enjoyable than before, so we ask for your enthusiastic anticipation.
[Crafting Production Added]
Following Cooking and Casting, a new type of Production, Crafting, will be added.
Through Crafting, you will be able to produce Accessories, Face Deco, Promote Materials, and Training Materials.
In addition, new stats will be granted to Accessories and Face Deco, expanding the range of strategic choices for Fleet setups.
[Seasonal Barter Added]
In line with the Trade Season, new seasonal Barter Trade Goods will be added.
These new Barter Trade Goods can be used together with Mineral Salt, allowing Admirals to earn additional profits that befit the Trade Season.
[Company Research Revamp]
Previously low-impact Company Research effects will be fully revamped, and new research effects will also be added.
Both the effects and the tree structure will be completely reworked. As many Admirals are expected to reconfigure their research,
all Admirals’ Company Research trees will be reset along with the February regular maintenance.
[Trade Point Improvement]
For Company Lv. 101–105, the number of Investment Certificates obtained and
the maximum storable Trade Points will be increased from 200,000 to 500,000.
In addition, weekly rankings will be changed so that Trade Points are calculated based on cumulative net profit.
We will never forget that the heartfelt advice and criticism shared by
our Admirals are invaluable foundations for creating a better game.
Although there are still many areas that need improvement,
starting with this letter, we will strive to repay you through updates and operations that meet your expectations.
Please take care of your health in the cold weather, and we wish you fair winds and following seas at all times.
Thank you.
