Hello, Admirals.
This is Cheolwoo Park, the Director of Uncharted Waters Origin.
Regarding the Season 6 content added with the May 13 update for the Combat season,
we are carefully reviewing the various feedback sent by Admirals.
The Combat-related systems reorganized through this season
(such as increased regular Combat Investment Deed Information rewards, introduction of the Combat Shop, etc.)
will maintain their basic framework even after Season 6 ends.
As there have been major changes in terms of balance,
we will quickly correct areas that need improvement through intensive monitoring.
In this letter, we would like to share the direction of future improvements,
focusing on the topics most frequently inquired about by Admirals through the community.
🔎 Combat Reorganization Notice & Other Notices |
[Combat Reorganization Notice]
As regular Combat rewards have been increased, the number of Admirals using AUTO Combat has grown significantly,
and many opinions have been shared regarding the frustration and inefficiency of the Combat AI.
The phenomenon where Combat time is unnecessarily prolonged due to unintended actions definitely requires improvement.
With the goal of applying it in the June update, we are currently working on the following 5 core AI modifications.
1. Prioritize Attacks Suitable for Ship Focus
- Improved so that Artillery ships prioritize Artillery, Melee ships prioritize Melee, and Rammers prioritize Ram attacks.
- Support ships will behave similarly to before.
- This applies only to player AI.
2. Grant Priority to 'Quick Skill'
- If you check this function in the newly added Settings item, the 'Quick Skill' registered by the Admiral will take top priority over the basic Focus of the Ship.
Through this, you can set up the role of each Ship more precisely.
3. Increased Aggressiveness in Disadvantageous Situations
- The pattern of hesitating to attack and passing the Turn when the enemy is strong will be changed to be aggressive,
increasing the efficiency of 'Counterattack' during AUTO Combat.
4. Combine Move with Buff Skill Usage
- Improved the phenomenon where Turns were wasted by using Combat Cry or Spy on the spot when the enemy was strong,
changing it to use skills while Moving toward the target.
5. Immediate Use of Admiral's Order
- Changed so that if there is an available Admiral's Order, it will be used with the highest priority starting from Turn 1.
Since each Admiral's Fleet setup is so diverse, it is difficult to instantly apply an AI that perfectly accommodates every situation.
However, our top priority goal is to 'make the AI behave smoothly within the category expected and intended by the Admiral.'
We will continue to monitor and supplement any shortcomings even after the update.
[Combat Shop]
As the main rewards from Assault, Lighthouse of the Ruins, and Great Clash have been integrated into 'Combat Shop' currency,
Admirals are now able to directly select the rewards they desire.
However, while there are newly added rewards such as Auction House-grade parts,
we also deeply sympathize with the disappointing feedback that "it has become more difficult to supply some rewards that were previously guaranteed."
The composition of the Combat Shop is not fixed,
and we will continuously adjust the lineup and price balance in accordance with the flow of each season and the gameplay goals of Admirals.
[Trade Route]
Until now, seasonal Trade has progressed mainly around seasonal Barter and High Trade goods. In this season,
we increased the exchange quantity of Chalcopyrite to satisfy the Load Capacity that grew with the increase in Ship Grades.
However, many opinions were also shared that "fatigue is too high due to repeating only specific trade routes."
To break away from the stagnant situation where only specific items among the hundreds of types of Trade Goods existing in the game are traded,
we are in multi-faceted discussions to allow various Trade Goods to hold their own value and meaning through an overall overhaul of Prices.
Since the upcoming Season 7 is scheduled to be a Trade-themed season, we will prepare to secure the diversity of trade routes during season operations.
[Guild Effect & Company Research Improvements]
We are sharing the detailed update schedule for the 'Guild Effect & Company Research Improvements'
that was previously announced as Season 6 content in our last letter.

We kindly ask for the broad understanding of Admirals for the schedule being applied separately rather than being presented at the start of the season.
As you have looked forward to this for a long time, we will carefully wrap it up and present it as a highly polished system.
🔎 Notice of Follow-up Measures for April Participation Events |
Through last April's letter, we were able to hear the valuable opinions of Admirals
from all over the world regarding 'Hostile Guild' and 'Scouting Improvements.'
Based on the feedback you sent, we have finalized the direction of the relevant content as follows.
[Hostile Guild: Introduction Postponed & Direction Fully Reconsideration]
Even if the conditions for declaring hostility are strict, we confirmed overwhelming concerns that the rule of 'ignoring Naval Protection'
would cause severe stress and negative experiences in general play (Trade/Adventure). In addition,
we deeply agreed with the poignant point that 'Alliances/Unions between Guilds' should be provided before hostility.
Accordingly, the introduction of 'Hostile Guild' will be postponed, and we will reconsider the direction from square one,
focusing on a 'Union' system where small and medium-sized Guilds can cooperate with large Guilds and secure competitiveness.
[Scouting Improvements: Confirmed for August Update]
Many Admirals sent positive support in that various Adventure Mates can be recruited to secure Explore Combat Power.
1. Scouting Improvements are scheduled to be applied through the August update.
2. The Explore Combat Power benefits previously provided by Melee will remain the same.
Even if the value of Scouting based on the Expertise LV is granted somewhat lower than Nature/Supply,
the dual stats (Melee + Scouting) possessed by Combat/Adventure Mates will be added together.
As a result, the balance will be adjusted to a level where
the comprehensive Combat Power is equal to or more advantageous than before.
We will carefully adjust it so that the value of the Mates you have previously nurtured is not damaged.
We sincerely thank the Admirals who gave us many opinions through the last letter,
and we will continue to listen to your opinions and reflect feedback on major matters in the future.
In the 1st Assault event completed last week, we express our sincere surprise and
gratitude for the passion of the Admirals who recorded scores that exceeded the development team's expectations.
We hope you will continue to strategically utilize 'Defection' (a system that defeats enemies to make them allies),
which was newly introduced to this Assault. The Assault event where you can obtain Build Materials will continue until the end of Season 6,
so we hope you obtain many rewards.
Also, how did you like the Vittorio Sartori Chronicles introduced through this update?
Departing from the existing single-Admiral stories,
we made a bold attempt with new scenario planners to build a massive narrative that connects with Linus Rachet and Dagna Kalros.
As it was a new challenge, there were several trials and errors, but we hope it provided an even deeper sense of immersion and enjoyment for Admirals.

The upcoming Season 7 is being planned as a 'Trade Season' so that Admirals can feel the true fun of Uncharted Waters Origin.
Although it may be difficult to reflect all sent opinions in the game, if you share what you liked while engaging in Trade in
Uncharted Waters Origin and what you felt needed improvement from a service perspective,
we will refer to them when planning the season to prepare better trade content.
