Hello, Admirals.
This is Chul-Woo Park, Director of Uncharted Waters Origin.
Just as mates in the ancient past crossed the vast seas guided by the starlight in the night sky,
he greatest 'starlight' that has illuminated the path for Uncharted Waters Origin
over the past four years has been none other than you, our Admirals.
As we prepare for our 4th Anniversary,
we have taken the time to carefully look back on each of your valuable opinions and suggestions.
To ensure an even more enjoyable and comfortable sailing experience,
we are pouring our heart and soul into addressing and improving long-standing areas of inconvenience.
Today, as our very first step, we would like to share a sneak peek of the major quality-of-life
improvements we are preparing for the 4th Anniversary.
We hope you are as excited as we are!

⭐ Growth Structure and Ship Materials Revamp |
1. Integration of Ship Build Materials into 'Board'
- The basic ship materials, which were previously fragmented
into Board, Mast, and Gun Port, will be integrated into 'Board'.
As a result, storage space will be dramatically simplified starting from the acquisition stage.
In addition, complexly divided acquisition sources,
such as the rotation of Explore Land, will be bundled into one, increasing farming convenience.
2. Introduction of Auto-Enhance and Enhance Gear in Use
- A function that automatically performs Enhancement until
currency is depleted once a target Enhancement level is specified will be added.
Additionally, a function to instantly Enhance currently equipped Gear without unequipping it will be added.
3. Improvement of Mate Growth Convenience
- When hiring a new Mate, the system has been improved
so that they are hired with a certain LV automatically achieved in proportion to the current Company LV.
- A function will be added that allows you to directly enter a 'Target LV' to Grow Mates
to the desired LV all at once, even when consuming EXP Potions.
4. Expertise Revamp
- Scouting: 'Exploration Combat Power' stats will be added,
allowing you to supplement Exploration Combat Power,
which was lacking compared to Observation/Gathering Power
when organizing a fleet focused on Adventure Mates.
- Supply: A 'Crew Recruitment Increase' effect,
which can increase the maximum number of Standby Crew in the City, will be added.
This will alleviate the burden of the rapidly increased number of required Crew
and excessive hiring costs due to the release of high-grade Ships.
⭐ Contents Revamp |
1. Assault System Improvement and Introduction of 'Practice Mode'
- Assault, which could previously only be performed while Sailing, can now be easily performed inside the City.
- To improve the issue of having to waste precious challenge opportunities just to understand the boss's patterns,
an [Assault Practice Mode] will be added, which can be played
as much as you like without consuming Currency or attempts.
※ However, to prevent abuse of avoiding sailing hazards, Practice Mode can only be entered inside the City.
2. Season Powerful Opponent Spawn System Revamp
- We have identified trends where certain Companies monopolized Powerful Opponents
or dominated them by exploiting the channeling system.
Some of the upcoming Season 7 Powerful Opponents will be revamped so that after one combat,
the fleet does not disappear, allowing all Admirals to challenge them multiple times during a designated period.
Through this, more Admirals will be able to participate in combat fairly.
※ This revamped system will be introduced as a trial only for some Powerful Opponents.
3. Removal of Entry Time Restrictions for Buildings in Cities
- Entry conditions for buildings during specific time zones based on
Development or some Quest directions have been removed, allowing you to use buildings at any convenient time.
- The Item Shop can be entered at all times, but the timed nature of the Black Market will remain.
Additionally, entry restrictions may inevitably apply to essential staging elements of some Quests.
※ In the Capital, the 24-hour Black Market can be used as before.
4. Improvement of Conditions for Accepting Requests
- The existing rule where a recently completed Request could not reappear
immediately was difficult to check in-game,
causing great confusion, especially when proceeding with daily Requests.
We have accepted the opinions of Admirals and completely removed this rule,
improving it so that recently completed Requests can also reappear immediately.
⭐ UI and In-Game Convenience Enhanced |
1. Pet Effects 'Cumulatively Applied' and Free Appearance Customization
- The hassle of switching Pets every time to get a desired effect is now gone.
Since the stats of all owned Pets are now cumulatively applied,
you can freely Assign Pets with your desired Appearance regardless of their performance.
※ Appellations and Disguises are also being prepared for a subsequent revamp
to enhance the convenience of applying effects and equipping your desired Appearance.
2. Added Company Research to Assign
- Since the Company Research revamp, the inconvenience
that occurred during the Research slot exchange process has been improved.
The Research slot information is now saved together within the Assign,
allowing you to exchange Research more conveniently than before.
3. Trade Point Reward 'Claim All' Function
- Optimization of Trade Point Rewards, which could only be claimed up to 50 times,
has been completed, allowing you to claim all rewards at once.
4. Contribution Shop UX Revamp
- The Shop UI, which was inconvenient due to the inability to purchase multiple items simultaneously
and unnecessary dialogue pop-ups, has been replaced with a general UX style
like the Item Shop to increase convenience.
5. New 'Explore Land and Discoveries Guide' in World Map
- To aid in Explore Land, which was frustrating due to a lack of guidance,
a list function will be added to the World Map where you can instantly check the Explore Land list
(Location, Discoveries, Rewards, Exploration Conditions, etc.) of discovered sea areas.
Search functions for Discoveries and checking Undiscovered Discoveries will also be added.
6. Added 'Multiplier Consumption' to Salvage System
- To reduce the fatigue of repetitive mini-games,
rather than implementing auto-salvage,
we have introduced a compressed method that consumes multiple ropes
at once to acquire rewards at a multiplier rate, capturing both original fun and convenience.
7. Added Play Again for Chronicles Ending BGM
- In response to Admirals' opinions wishing to listen again to the charming ending BGM
introduced starting from Linus Rachet's Chronicles,
a dedicated function will be newly established in the Chronicles UI to enjoy the music at any time after the ending.
We sincerely hope that these major convenience improvements prepared for the 4th Anniversary will,
even if only slightly, enhance the value of the time you spend on the seas.
We are deeply aware of the weight of the effort and memories you have built upon these waters over the past four years.
Rather than prioritizing the pride or stubbornness of the development team,
we will continue our service by placing the tangible satisfaction of our Admirals as our utmost priority.
Our development team will never take the inconveniences you experience,
big or small, for granted and will continuously work to improve them.
We will also meticulously refine all upcoming content from the very beginning.
More specific update schedules and detailed figures will be transparently shared in future patch notes.
